Emerald Pool
Yes, I love technology
But not as much as you, you see
But I still love technology
Always and forever(Napoleon Dynamite)
Don’t you just love being able to see your family even when half of you are on the other side of the world??

We rented a car this morning and drove to go to the Emerald Pool. Farrell’s friend Jade told us it’s her favorite place on earth.

It was a lovely walk through this tropical forest. Wait, does that equate a jungle? tropical forest = jungle? π€·π»♀️

I think several tour buses had just arrived…We decided to continue on to the Blue pool and then come back.
The hermit temple along the path

The Blue Pool is a thermal hot spring. It looked like it was illuminated from the bottom. They don’t allow anyone to get in. It was so beautiful.

Our plan worked. The bulk of the tourists had left once we returned to the Emerald Pool. The water was such a pleasant temperature. The edges were limestone with warm water pouring into the pool, possibly fed by the blue pool that was up higher. The bottom was sand and mossy plant-life. Just a naturally occurring pool that they’ve built a walkway around.

The pool feeds a small stream that works it’s way down into other streams and pools.
Back into the car. Farrell said it took every ounce of concentration driving on the left side of the road. Much more difficult in the car than on the scooter. Melissa did an excellent job navigating: even took us a round about back way to avoid a police checkpoint. (We didn’t want to risk a ticket for not having an international drivers license. We’ll put that on the “to do” list for next time.) (Day continues on next post.)
