The temples at Angkor Wat
Melissa hired a tuk tuk and the driver stayed with us for the whole day, waiting at each place while we explored. His name was Sukan. He was delightful.

It’s not possible to communicate the breadth, beauty, magnitude, craftsmanship and sheer quantity of all the temples in this area. Built in the 1200’s AD. This was incredible.
I’ve been joking (but half serious) that I would completely melt over here. As Melissa said “the amount of sweat produced today was unreal.” Ha! Farrell described it like being up in the attic. In the middle of the day. In the summer. The sweat literally ran off us. 🥵 So much so that we visited one of the many vendors selling their wares and Farrell bought two shirts that are super lightweight cotton. He felt much better after changing. 😅
It was so fun to get a call on messenger from Spencer while we were there. Ahhh… 💕💕
The trees were amazing. The roots intertwined in the temples—so cool!
The Ta Prohm temple was the location for the 2001 Angelina Jolie movie “Tomb Raider.”
Always carry an umbrella: for rain. For shade. For the sake of Mary Poppins.
